As you can see in the video, the French coach refused to shake hands after losing to South Africa. People say the French are arrogant, rude and snobbish. I disagree. I would like to add unsporting to the mix. When you have ruined your countries World Cup hopes with a really good side, filled with world class players, the very least you can do is keep your dignity and sportsmanship. The ultimate insult to a fellow manager is not shaking their hand after the battle. Was the red card on Gourcuff during the match harsh? Yes. Did the South African player act like he had been knocked unconscious by that stray unintentional elbow only to get up and sprint off to continue the rest of the game? Yes. Should you still shake the opposition manager’s hand after being beaten by the better team on the day? A thousand times YES!!
