Let’s just say Theresa Shaver’s carriage ride through Central Park does not go according to plan. I think we can all agree it’s not just the horse that’s trippin’…
A large animal has been spooked. It tried to back away from “danger” and proceeded to accidentally trip on the curb and fall on its side. Stay calm, give the animal some space and let the animal’s trained handlers see to it. Or scream your lungs out, sob uncontrollably and run around with a camera so as to hinder the situation as best you can. If for any reason you have failed to cause as much trouble as humanly possible feel free to seek out the animal after it has recovered and proceed to run around screaming with your camera again…life lessons brought to you by Theresa Shaver.
For its part, the Horse and Carriage Drivers Association called Shaver “crazy,” and said the horse was “absolutely fine” and merely tripped. “We followed proper protocol, we brought the horse back to the stable — made sure the horse was fine. And the horse was fine.” Carriage driver Bill Sac said the only reason he was standing in the hack-line with the horse was because Shaver left her purse in the carriage and he was waiting for her to come and collect it.
